Deputy Cooperatives Minister: Small Businesses to Be Supported for Generating Employment

Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare in Employment and Entrepreneurship Affairs Hassan Taei said that small businesses will be supported in line with generating more employment opportunities.
Speaking at 1st Intl. Conference on Advantages and Capacities of Cooperatives in Economic and Social Development, he pointed to synergy plan of NGOs tasked with supporting small business with the aim of generating employment opportunities and said: "Focusing on advantage of small businesses in generation of employment and collective participation of supportive institutions, the Plan will be enforced in line with empowering small businesses and guidance of executive projects in compatible with advantages of various regions of the country." Small businesses are considered as a tool for promoting local employment, he said, adding: "Labor market is considered as the most important determinant factor for economic growth potentially and actually and employment of manpower constitutes the most important social and economic objective of a community." Elsewhere in his remarks, he reiterated: "Under such circumstances, if a comprehensive planning is required to be formulated in order to penetrate into labor market, identification of existing situation and also extraction of advantages and challenges of a region is necessitated." In this line, small businesses have been taken into serious consideration due to their excellent share in generation of employment in the country, he maintained.
Given the above issue, the said plan has been formulated in cooperation with a number of Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) and supportive institutes in order to empower small businesses in compatible with advantages of various regions of the country, he observed.
